The first setup of Compliance Tracker 365 may be a bit slower than desired!
The main reason is its use of search. This is a great SharePoint Online service, offering speed, scalability and security, but it can take up-to an hour to start indexing newly created SharePoint sites.
If you have just created a new site and installed the app, there will be a Wait message. This will be cleared once the configuration files are indexed which can take up to 1-hour.
If you are adding the app to an existing site, the wait should be no more than 15-minutes.
Once the Management page is loaded, click Setup to select a Term set, add Profiles and apply a License.
After profiles are created, there will be another delay of up to 15-minutes whilst the profiles are added to the search index. This will impact Reports but targeting and tracking will work from this point. You need to add targeted content to the site for Reports to work. To enable targeting on a Documents library, open Management > Libraries and apply Compliance Tracker 365 to the libraries. Once applied, document can be targeted for tracking.
Once the configuration is fully indexed, SharePoint’s performance will generally be fine. Profile and document changes may take a few minutes to be indexed, and pages should be available in the index almost immediately.
To check if the search status in configured sites, look at Summary report details and Search index status in Management > Reports. These show how many Compliance Tracker 365 items are found in the search indexes and if content the enabled libraries is indexed.
